An Interview with Barbara Segal

Barbara Segal speaks tellingly with Carlos Blanco about her passion for baroque dance. Fine music is what inspires her dancing and the graceful movements that underline its subtlety. She also remarks on the importance of the juxtaposition of comic and serious moments to connect with the audience. Barbara Segal is well-known in the UK & abroad, as a performer, teacher and historian of dance from the 15th to the 19th century. She directs Chalemie, a group specializing in Early Dance and Music, with its own annual Easter School. In 2018 the Early Dance Circle presented Barbara with the Peggy Dixon Award for Outstanding Services to Early Dance.
